10 Questions With Roni

A few weeks ago I was tweeting and I asked "Which food blogger would you like to see featured on my blog?". I was surprised by the wonderful response of so many food bloggers as they named their favorite fellow foodies and bloggers that they would like to see aswer some questions in my 10 Questions Feature. So all of this month of July, I will be featuring some wonderful people who are very passionate about their food, some work day jobs and food blog by night, some food blog all the time, Masterchef fanatics, Kitchen Gadget Addicts, Healthy Recipe Hunters nurturing and making the web a more delicious place, one recipe at a time.
Today we are chatting with Veronica Noone known lovingly as Roni by the plethora of fans who have been inspired by her amazing weight loss story and have followed her quest for healthy recipes and leading a healthy lifestyle over the years. A doting mum and wife, Roni has a lot of information and experience to share on her many websites and blogs. Friendly, grounded and determined, Roni shares recipes for a healthy diet on her Green Lite Bites website and maintains a record of her weight loss and postive body image journey on Roni’s Weigh. Roni can also be found on Twitter tweeting as @RonisWeigh.

Thank You Roni for taking some time out to chat with us. It is an absolute pleasure to have you on the blog.
1. Your latest food discovery?
I’m slacking on the discovery part lately as I’m in the middle of a move and a new job. However my latest "Food Find" was bulgur. I also do "Produce Picks" on my blog, where my son and I taste test a new fruit or vegetable. Our most recent taste test was Star Fruit.
2. What cookbook has inspired you the most?
I’m inspired more by Pictures then recipes so my favorite books are loaded with images. The two that come to mind first are Williams-Sonoma Eating by Color and Everyday Food: Great Food Fast. And of course Alton’s book!
3. Your fondest food memory?
That’s easy. Decorating cookies with my mom at Christmas. I hope to be making the same memories for my son now.
4. Your most trusty kitchen companion?
My digital scale. Couldn’t cook or bake without it!
5. Quick, tell us 10 things that are in your fridge right now!
1. Too much Zucchini
2. At least 3 mustards
3. Light Chocolate Soy Milk
4. Defrosted Pork Chops I was suppose to make for dinner
5. No Sugar added Sweet Pickles
6. Pasta salad that I make for the husband and HATE. (it has tuna in it.. YUCK! I mean I love tuna.. hate the salad)
7. A humongous bag of carrots
8. Pomegranate Juice
9. At least a dozen eggs
10. Low Carb Tortillas
6. One ingredient that frightens you the most? Why?
Sour Cream. I don’t like it. I don’t know how to use it. I don’t get it. Why is it so popular?
7. What are you doing food wise to be more ecologically responsible?
I shop a lot at local food stands. I try to buy in season. I ditched paper plate this past year. Overall I try to prepare most of my food using as many whole ingredients as possible.
8. Which celebrity chef would you invite to dinner? What would you cook for them?
I would love to meet Alton Brown but I think he would intimidate me. It may sound cheesy but Sandra Lee seems like the most fun and approachable. I’m not sure what I would make her. It would depend on the season and event.
9. What vegetable are you?
I’m definitely a Zucchini. Fun, easy, laid-back. I can stand alone or work well with others.
10. Comfort Food?
PIZZA! Chilli, stews. Anything thing warm and in a bowl.
Thanks Sneh!

Roni, it sounds like we’d be great friends! And I’m with you on tuna in the pasta salad. I never quite understood that combination.
