| Peach & Lemon Jam | |
This was the first jam I ever made and also the first 'Weekend Project' for the site. It was a great experience and the jam which was a result of several modified recipes, turned out quite nice; almost like a chutney with a spicy undertone. It wasn't very difficult reaching the dreaded 'gel point' either.

Yet another brilliant recipe from the coffers of Donna Hay's huge collection, this one tested out my new ice-cream maker beautifully and we had a creamy, delightful concoction for a hot, sunny day. Possibly the best ice cream ... ooops semifreddo i have had yet!

| Wheat Chilli | |
There is nothing more comforting and gratifying than a bowl of good old fashioned chili. The marriage of tomato and cumin gives it its signature taste. | White Bean And Leek Soup | |
You can soak the cannellini beans overnight and make this gorgeous, light soup from scratch. For me, a can of store-bought cannellini beans works just fine and is heaps quicker.

| Cantonese Corn Soup | |
I love Chinese soups, they are quick to make, fuss-free and taste delicious. They stay hot longer as most of them are thick due to the use of cornfour or congee rice. Very satisfying and filling!
