  • For a radiant, glowing complexion; apply grated potato and gram flour on your face in a circular motion. Wash after a few minutes.

  • Get rid of oily skin by making a paste of chickpea[gram] flour and lemon juice and applying it over the face. Wash off after 20 minutes.

  • Mash a few mint leaves, 'neem' leaves and a banana. Apply all over the face and neck. Wash off when dry. This face pack removes scars, freckles and minor skin blemishes.

  • Rub ice cold orange juice on dry skin in circular motions. It gives a glowing complexion.

  • To soothe a sunburn apply a pack made of mashed watermelon with 2 tbsp of milk powder.

  • For parched complexions, enrich your skin by combining a banana, an avocado and 2 tbsp of yoghurt with 2 drops of Vit E oil.

  • For oily hair apply a pack made of 1 tsp fenugreek powder, 2 tsp yoghurt and 1 tsp brown sugar for 15 mins and wash off.

  • Soothe your mane by applying a pack made with 1 beaten egg, 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Steam with a hot towel for 10 mins and wash.

  • A great way to take off make-up is with baby oil. Just dab a little on a tissue and wipe your face.

  • If your nail polish becomes sticky, add 2 to 3 drops of acetone to the bottle and shake well.

  • To remove a sun tan/sun burn, add a little rose water to lime juice and apply on the affected area at night. Wash off with water the next morning.

  • To remove hair colour stains from the skin, immediately apply and rub shampoo over the affected area with a cotton swab.

  • Extract aloe vera juice and rub it into your scalp. This ensures healthy growth of hair.

  • To soothe tired eyes, keep slices of potato or cucumber over your eyelids.

  • Applying a mixture of honey and lime juice over lips for a few days lightens their colour.

  • Pumpkin slices are very effective in treating dark circles under the eyes. Regular use over a fortnight will make the dark circles fade away.

  • To avoid dry skin, add a few drops of olive oil or almond oil to your bath water.
