I made these little beauties a few weeks ago and tried to capture their shape and texture indoors with the light streaming in through our glass doors. Stacking the biscuits added a nice touch to the picture. The focus stayed on the stack and the background blurred into obscurity.
chocolate caramel slice
I got addicted to these slices when one of my friends started showing up with them at picnics, parties and get-togethers. These are handy little treats and you can make them interesting as well as healthy with a cupful of oats. I have photographed one slice with an antique two-prong silver cake fork. The choice of green plate was all wrong as it throws a terrible glare on the subject.
raspberry and pistachio cake
This loaf cake was so colourful that it was begging to be photographed. Against a white porcelain background, the crumbly texture of the cake and the little specks of green and fuschia stand out quite nicely. The silver jam spoon rests subtly on the right without overpowering the main subject. I have photographed this slice outdoors in natural lighting.
mango kalakand
The mango fudge was roughly chopped to enhance the crumbs and ripple on the sliced surface. The gold and red colours of the fudge contrast sharply with the black serving plate and create a striking visual. I have stacked them one on top of the other, instead of laying them flat. This makes them looks chunkier and enhances the texture details.
