| This is a candy base. You can add your own choice of flavourings and colours, pour it in moulds or just break it by hand when it sets and cools. |

| Ingredients |
|
2 cups sugar
|
|
1 cup water
|
|
3/4 cup corn syrup |
|
|
| Method |
Mix all the ingredients in a saucepan and cook to 270oF or until it reaches a hard brittle stage [which will produce threads as it falls in cool water]. Remove from heat and add food colouring as desired. Add 1/2
tsp. flavouring (cinnamon, peppermint,caramel,vanilla etc.). Pour into a buttered dish and cool. Break into pieces and roll in powdered sugar. |
