| Basic Pizza Dough |

| This is a very handy and quick pizza dough recipe. Make it several times for good practice and then adapt it to make different kinds of pizzas and calzones in a jiffy. |

| Ingredients |

1 sachet dry yeast [7g]
|
|
1 tsp caster sugar
|
|
1/2 tsp salt
|
|
2 cups plain flour
|
|
2 tbsp olive oil |

| Method | | Combine 3/4 cup warm water, yeast, sugar and salt in a bowl. Stir and dissolve well. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside in a warm place for 5 minutes till bubbles appear on the surface. Sift flour in a large bowl. Add the yeast mixture and oil. Mix to form a soft dough. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for 10 minutes until elastic. Place in a lightly greased bowl. Cover with plastic wrap. Stand in a warm place for 25 to 30 minutes till the dough has risen and doubled in size. Punch the dough with your fist and knead on a lightly floured surface till smooth. |
