Chinese Jasmine Tea
Added: 15th Aug, 2006 | Viewed 306 times | |
Freshly brewed Chinese Tea is indeed a miracle of nature. It gives a whole new meaning to the adage "There is immense joy in simplicity". This simple method of making the purest, invigorating and calming tea has become a daily ritual in our home. Try it and I am sure that you will love it.

Preparation Time: 5 mins
Serves 2
  Vegetarian  From My Recipe Book
Ingredients
   1 tsp jasmine tea leaves
   2 cups water
Method
Boil water. Remove from heat. Pour over jasmine tea leaves in a teapot. Brew for 3-4 minutes. Serve without straining.
Serving suggestions
  • Serve in little chinese tea-cups. These are smaller and come without handles. Refills come faster and the tea is more enjoyable.
  • Gel's Notes
  • Excessive usage of tea leaves will cause the tea to become bitter. Use sparingly for a wonderful taste.
  • The lady at our local yum-cha place said that you can pour more boiling water over the used tea leaves a couple of times before they completely lose their taste. So sip away.
