| These are simple to make, full of robust flavours and can be used to mop up light and watery gravy based meat dishes. |

| Ingredients |
|
3 cups plain flour
|
|
1 1/2 tbsp baking powder
|
|
1/3 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
|
|
75g cold butter, chopped
|
|
1 1/2 cups sour cream
|
|
1/2 cup milk
|
|
2 tbsp parsley, chopped
|
|
1 1/2 tbsp tarragon, chopped
|
|
salt to taste
|
|
freshly ground black pepper |

| Method |
Prehat the oven o 210oC. Place the flour, baking powder and parmesan in a food processor and process until combined. Add the butter and process until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Use a flat, long spatula to fold through the sour cream, milk, parsley, tarragon, salt and pepper in quick strokes. Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface and press into 4cm thickness round.
Use a 2inch round cookie cutter to cut out shapes and place them on a lined baking tray, a few cms apart. Bake for approximately 18-20 minutes until golden brown. |
